Film vs Digital

Their are two main types of photography, film photography and digital photography. Film has been used longer, however digital photography is more recent. While some film veterans would never consider switching to digital, then are no doubts that digital photography has some considerable benefits.

With digital cameras, after you take photos you can immediately see the result. They are also much easier to edit with software and can be uploaded to the internet. With digital cameras you can engage in macro mode and image stabilization to take great photos!

The Basics of a Digital Camera

Your digital camera is the most important tool in your arsenal. Without it, there would be no photography. For this reason you want to know the basics as well as the advanced features a digital camera. Before you even considering buying a digital camera, be sure to know these basics.

First is pixels. Every photograph is composed of hundreds of pixels which are tiny, tiny squares. Pixels are made of different color combinations. As a photographer, you normally want a camera capable of taking between 3-5 MP, or megapixels.

You also want to examine the aspect ratio of the camera. Basically the aspect ratio determines the size of the sides of the photograph. The standard ration is 4:3.
